Hey Everybody!!! This next Monday (the 15th) there is a very important Protest that i am going to be a part of. Karl Rove will be speaking at one of our sister schools CMC. Now for anyone who knows who this Right-Winger is, his name is synonymous with WAR! (also Phillip Morris and all things Texas) He has been called the "Architect" of war for ALL the Bush terms (daddy and son). Karl Rove was subpoenaed by the House Judiciary Committee this past May...yet he has time to visit a campus to talk about his destructive political career that has plagued us for far too long. The protest is being organized by both Professors and students @ Pitzer. Also Food not Bombs will be providing Free Home cooked meals.
This man is one of the dirties, twisted,rich neoconservatives, that is responsible for a laundry list of destruction, and lies!

Mary, Aaron, and I had a booth for Burma at the F%$# Yeah Fest this past weekend in Echo Park. To start we had some problems with one of the fellows in charge telling us, "There are 10 year old kids here... you can't put that up!" He was referring to a poster of what is really going on in Burma... people, monks, nuns, women, men, and children are being MURDERED!We had a handful of discussions with people, and about ten people singed up to receive emails from US Campaign for Burma, and also made $7.00 in donations. muuurrrr!We did however, make a contact with a gentleman named Steven Stothard of Microcosm Publishing (www.microcosmpublishing.com) who offered us help in spreading the word about the brutality that Burma faces daily. THANK YOU STEVEN!!!
Last Friday, me and some 5FIX2 riders hit up the LBCM. Wow... the amount of BS we got from the cops were on a level i had never experienced. There was at the very least, 5 squad cars, 5 motorcycles cops, 5 segways, and about 10 bicycle cops, all for a bunch of kids on bikes that just want to ride. As soon as we started the cops began to yell at us to ride in a single file and threaten us with tickets. We made it around a corner when a squade car pulled up in front of our single file line pulled us over and began to ticket cyclist. A friend of mine (Patrick) was given up to three tickets. When the cops stoped us, some of us tried to talk with them about why in LB on a Friday night a bunch of kid cyclist were beging given so much attention rather than patrolling the rest of LB were... shit really does go down. They answered was... that there had been complaints about cyclist running red light, and riding on the wrong side of the street. Illegal yes... however on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the wrost... i would have to say, sadly that wrost events took place in LB that night and the cops were dispathched to ticket a bunch of kids for not having lights. Sounds crazy to me!
